Continued from Haw Creek & Pack Rat Falls

I don’t know about Matt, but at this point my stomach was beginning to growl.

Driving around that corner into Jasper was like stepping into the secret location of the holy grail. I could literally hear angels singing as the Ozark Cafe sign came into view.

Matt and I ate a quick meal, took no photos, and left as soon as we came. However, the Ozark Cafe is always so welcoming and their food is always so good, that I can’t help but mention the place in all my posts so that more people will check it out for themselves!

I had the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, they generously bread their fried chicken and slather the bun with a spicy ranch sauce that is to die for. I absolutely love everything on the menu. I’ve ordered something different every time and have yet to be disappointed. Matt ordered the Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich. The meals are always so generously portioned, almost to the point where you just can’t eat it all. For $7 a person you really can’t go wrong.

After a quick stop at the amazing Ozark Cafe, Matt and I hopped back into the truck and headed up to Compton. We were hoping to catch Snoop Dogg performing to his homies down near the post office, but unfortunately he was out swimming in a water hole for the day. Oh Snap!

Paige Falls

The road to Paige Falls & Broadwater Hollow is located directly across from the Volunteer Fire Department in Compton. The road is extremely rough, and down hill, so I really don’t recommend driving anything other than 4×4 into it. Especially, if it is raining like it was when we went.

Broadwater Hollow Falls

If you do own a 4×4 and are looking for some awesome waterfalls then don’t pass these up. This short canyon is filled with some really neat slots and drops that produce many different sized waterfalls. The two main attractions are the Twin Broadwater Hollow Falls, which you can view in a Panorama that I took of them and Paige Falls, a waterfall named after a recently departed teen who lived in the area, Alyssa Paige Slape. May she rest in peace.

Broadwater Hollow

The area was extremely slippery and I believe I counted three stumbles between myself and Matt. We were rubbing out the bruises all the way back to the truck after a short downpour decided to move us on to the next and last waterfall for the day.

Magnolia Falls.
